Spring is here!

Well, these are not recent pictures, but I had to show them off because cousin Abigail is so darn cute with the boys. She loves hanging out with ALL the babies! As she has said..."Aunt Kelly, you sure do have a lot of babies!"
So we have been enjoying the nice weather change this week! It is such a joy watching these babies' faces react to the outdoor environment! On Monday we played outside and took a walk, Des Peres park on Tuesday, lunch date with friends today and who knows what tomorrow! We finally got our new carseats delivered yesterday so we installed them in last night and today was our first time out with all the babies front facing all in a row across the back row of our van. Jack has the middle all to himself and it's quite nice looking in the rear view mirror at all those sweet faces!
We are looking forward to Easter. I was really thinking we would have some walkers by Easter, but so far noone has taken that first step! My laid back boys just enjoy hanging out with each other and marching to the beat of their own drum!

Andrew playing peekaboo

Funny Andrew tonight after dinner. He tore his bib off and threw it on the floor in typical Andrew fashion. Then he raises up his shirt and I think he is probably trying to take his shirt off. Soon enough we were playing peekaboo because he kept on raising it and lowering it. I had to grab my camera to catch another funny Andrew moment. There are many funny Andrew moments throughout the day. I should just keep my camera in my pocket!

Andrew

Andrew has sure blossomed into his own little personality! Let's just say that Andrew is a little Busy Body. He likes to get into his brothers' business. He loves to explore. He just doesn't stop. From morning until bedtime he is on the move! And he's a rough little guy. The past couple of days he hasn't wanted to nap in the morning and his second nap has been short. He just won't relax! Maybe he is teething or just ready to switch to 1 nap, but I hope I figure something out soon because he's been a handful! He enjoys cuddling and he likes me to stay in the same room with him. When I leave he really lets me know what he feels about that! He now is the heaviest at 26 pounds and Colin is around 25 pounds. He eats great and sits nicely at mealtime. Tonight after I put him to bed for the night he was restless and then he started crying. So I go in there and his "lovey" (little bear blanket) is on the floor. So I give it to him and lay him back down and he was fine. Andrew and Daniel love their "lovies". Colin loves his binky. Andrew is a lot of fun and ball of energy. I look at him in amazement all the time. I can't believe how different he is than my other 3 children. He makes me smile and I can't help but pick him up and squeeze him and love him! He is my big teddy bear!

Colin

Colin is such a good little boy. He is reminding me more and more of Jack when he was a baby. I'll have to get a video clip of Colin when he's in his feeding chair getting ready to eat. It's so funny because when he sees me come near him with a bowl or box of crackers he screams with excitement. It's just so funny! He has been eating well. He loves chicken, beans, cheese, crackers and bread. He is my carb boy, so I'm happy when he picks up chicken, beans, cheese and some fruits and veggies. He loves to throw his food off the tray when he's had enough. He still lets me spoon feed him pureed meats, veggies and fruits. The funny little man will not pick up his own sippy cup at meal time or while relaxing on a pillow in the family room. No matter how hard I try to make him hold it himself he refuses to drink unless I hold it. He is army crawling, but not getting up on his knees to play yet. We are working on his flexibility and teaching him how to transfer to these different positions. It will come together. He's just still so stiff and rigid. Colin melts me when he smiles. He smiles all the time. He is such a dear and has a way of stealing you heart. I think he has stolen many hearts so far in his short life.

Daniel

My little Daniel is still the smallest of the trio. Kirkwood's
Parents as Teachers nurses came to the house one evening last week and completed the babies' vision and hearing screening. Which they all passed by the way. While they were here they weighed the babies and Daniel was around 22 pounds. Daniel prefers to feed himself with his fingers which makes it difficult to get him the amount of vegetables and fruits he needs every day. If he's in the right mood he will eat diced carrots, apples, grapes, chicken and cheese. If he sees yogurt then he'll definitely let me feed him! He lets me sneak in some bites of healthy pureed foods. He has been doing pretty good with the straw cup and sippy cup. The only problem is that the babies barely take enough from their cups during the day and then I offer them a bottle at night assuming they will meet their quota with their bedtime bottle. This hasn't been the case because now they are not as interested in the bottle anymore. Hopefully each day they will take a little more from their cups! Daniel isn't walking yet, but he can stand for awhile on his own and he seems more excited when he is on his feet and standing unassisted. He claps and raises his arms when we say "so big". He loves to be sung to and he loves to cuddle. Daniel is still the sweet little boy I said he was from day 1 in the NICU.

Buddies

Oh, these baby boys! They are just so great! Our days are busy with play and discovery. They explore every inch of our home on the prawl for the next new "toy". When I hear crying in the next room it's usually because somebody had an item removed from their hands or someone got poked/prodded or bonked on the head with something. They don't cope very well when their toys are stolen from them. I love to see them smile and play with each other. Jack loves getting on the ground and interacting with the triplets. Andrew is the roughest among the triplets and tries to keep up with Jack. He belly laughs at Jack all the time. It's a party around here every day!
