It's been awhile since my last post! Oops! Still super busy around here. They are all now probably 9 1/2-10 pounds. About 9 days ago Andrew weighed 8 lbs 15 oz, Colin weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and now Daniel is the littlest at 8 lbs 11 oz. Colin's eyes continue to look better so the doctor can now safely say there is practically no chance of a retinal detachment. He'll be examined again in 4 weeks. Andrew hopefully will get his shoe splints off his feet this Wednesday. If not, he'll be resized for a new pair and wear them for another 30 days. All the boys see the pediatrician for a 3 month checkup next Wednesday. No shots this time thank goodness! I haven't gotten any real smiles from the boys yet...at least I don't think! I think the smiles are right around the corner though and I can't wait! They have been eating every 4 hours this weekend so I think this will become a permanent change. I will see to it that it stays this way!
Our triplets were born on December 27, 2008 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center. Each baby weighed 3 lbs. 4 oz. Andrew Martin was delivered first followed by Colin Bryan both at 8:09. Finally Daniel Louis arrived at 8:10. Colin was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect shortly after birth. Colin's heart surgery was on January 6, 2009 and his recovery has been nothing short of a miracle! Thanks for visiting our blog and reading about all 3 of our little miracles!

I have never been so busy and so tired in all my life! It's great seeing the boys getting bigger. We're so blessed to have these healthy babies! We have more volunteers coming over the weekend so I know I can catch up on my rest a little. Andrew is up to 8 lbs 2 oz, Daniel is 7 lbs 11 oz, and Colin is 7 lbs 10 oz. They are still eating every 3 hours, but hopefully by next month we can extend it to every 4 hours and get a good stretch at night, too.

The boys were weighed last night and received their RSV vaccines. OUCH! Andrew weighs 7 lbs, 6 oz. Daniel weighs 7 lbs, 2 oz. Colin weighs 6 lbs, 15 oz. They are each putting on over 1 ounce a day which is great. Daniel is on my lap right now. He is such a sweet baby. He barely ever cries. Colin is still my spicy one. He has a pair of lungs on him! Andrew is a good boy, too. His belly bothers him with his reflux, but he's such a good eater! Thanks to some of the night and day help I'm getting, I feel pretty good today! Thanks everyone!!

It's been a busy week so far! Doctors appointments every day except Thursday. Yesterday the ophthalmologist saw improvement in Colin's left eye and will hopefully see the same pattern in the right eye when we return to his office on Monday. It's too hard to know what Colin's vision will be in the future, but hopefully he will just be faced with some nearsightedness. Today Andrew and Colin see the physical therapist for a check on their shoe splints that they are wearing to correct the alignment of the outer soles of their feet. Since they were so crowded in the womb their little feet curved inward. Monday we got good news from the orthopaedic surgeon that Colin and Daniel's hip ultrasounds were normal and it looks like their hip dysplasia has resolved. Friday all 3 boys go to the pediatrician for their 2 month checkup and first round of vaccines. The only vaccine they have received thus far is the RSV vaccine and they are due for another round of this today to be given by the home health nurse. The nurse will also check their weights today. When she came last Thursday Andrew weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces, Daniel weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces and Colin weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces. They are outgrowing some of their newborn clothes and have completely outgrown their preemie clothes!
